Only a 40 minute drive from Tulum, Coba was one of the main hubs for commerce, trade, politics and worship for the ancient Mayan civilisation.

On the way you’ll also get to experience some of the wondrous local Cenotes. These natural pools were key to the success of the Mayan civilisation. The Yucatan contains very few rivers or lakes, meaning that large sites such as Coba and Chichen Itza were built close to Cenotes in order to provide vital fresh water.

The Cenotes also played a large role in Mayan rites, with the Mayans believing these pools were the gateway to the afterlife.

After experiencing the Coba ruins, you’ll get the chance to swim in one of the local magical cenote! After you’ve taken some time to refresh. You’ll head over to a traditional Mayan village to see how the Mayan people have lived in harmony with nature and learned to thrive in the local ecosystem.

Once you’ve wrapped up your tour, you’ll be treated to an authentic regional buffet to round of the day before heading back to Tulum
